## Biography

Nadia Frankland is an Australian grappler and Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under Jeroen Lynders of Peninsula MMA. Born in Melbourne in October 2002, she came to sport through gymnastics, training from roughly ages six to twelve before switching to grappling. In 2015, after her father took her to a class at Peninsula MMA, Frankland began jiu-jitsu under Lynders and quickly moved from local tournaments into a competition-focused teen career.

Her international breakout arrived on the no-gi circuit. As a purple belt in 2022, Frankland reached the final of the ADCC Asia & Oceania Trials, beating Margot Ciccarelli by rear naked choke in the semifinal before taking silver against Adele Fornarino. Later that year she won the IBJJF World No-Gi Championship at brown belt. She reinforced that prospect status in 2023 with brown-belt No-Gi Worlds gold in both weight and absolute, plus Pan No-Gi gold in her division and silver in the open class.

Frankland was promoted to black belt on June 7, 2024, in a grading led by Lynders, and soon shifted into full-time training. That season she represented Absolute MMA / Peninsula MMA while also traveling to prepare with elite rooms such as Atos HQ in San Diego. By 2025 and 2026, Frankland had become a regular name in major no-gi brackets outside Australia. She earned double bronze at the 2025 IBJJF European No-Gi Championship, continued to appear in FloGrappling's women's 145 lb no-gi rankings, and built an ADCC profile that included two ADCC Open wins and a 2026 Asia & Oceania Trials title at -65 kg. Her game is defined by back attacks first, but her recorded finishes show a broader submission threat, including rear naked chokes, armbars, inside heel hooks, triangles, foot locks, bow-and-arrow chokes, and kimuras.
